“Fitness and a healthy lifestyle is a journey not a destination.”
With over 15 years experience in the health and exercise fields; I know how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle. As a personal trainer I will develop an individualized workout program according to your fitness desires and goals. Whether your goals are weight loss, increased muscle mass, cardio-respiratory improvement, better flexibility, or overall toning and wellness; I can assist you in achieving them, safely and effectively.
My start in health and fitness was with Sun Health in Arizona. After relocating to Virginia in 2005, I completed Personal Training classes at George Mason University, and later provided Personal Fitness Training at the GMU Aquatics and Fitness Center. Attending conferences and seminars keeps me up to date with the latest information in the health and fitness field, earning continuing education credits necessary to keep the ACE CPT certification current. Clients include the second place finisher in the 2008 NBC Channel 4 Weigh to Lose competition, Judy McClimans.
National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer; CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified, American Red Cross
My interest in health and fitness began while serving in the Army, where I initially scored the minimum to pass Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) events. After moving to a sedentary job, I set a goal to max the APFT and lead a more healthy lifestyle. I joined a gym and began my fitness journey, maxing out most PT tests during my last several years of service.
After leaving the Army I decided to expand my fitness knowledge and attended NASM study courses offered by George Mason University, and became a CPT in 2009. My interest is overall wellness and fitness, but I am also an avid runner. My races include marathons, many Army Ten Miler races, and countless half-marathons, 10K and 5K events.
